10. How to use the R9 as a USB DAC function to connect to a mobile phone?
To connect the R9 to an Android mobile phones, players or ios devices, you need to purchase an OTG cable (For example FiiO LT-TC series or LT-LT series) for connection.
Switch the working mode of the R9 to USB DAC mode on the drop-down menu or go to Settings->Mode choose menu to enter the USB DAC mode.
R9 output setting: switch to the corresponding output port according to the interface used, switch to [PO] on the front panel headphone out, switch to [PRELO] or [LO] on the rear panel line-out,switch to [PO+PRELO] on the front panel headphone out and rear panel line-out.
Connect the mobile phone and the USB 3.0 Type C port in R9 through USB data cable, then you can directly enjoy high-quality music by playing songs.

Playback software settings, such as FiiO Music, if there is a USB output, you need to turn it on. Some devices have to turn off the USB output to have sound.

Confirm that USB debugging is turned on in developer mode
On the mobile phone, you need to open "Developer Options" in "Other Advanced Settings" and then turn on the "USB Debugging" or "OTG" function

Confirm that the adapter cable has OTG function. Whether the cable is connected reversely, there is a direction indicator.

Since there is no unified specification for USB audio for mobile phones in different brands, so we could not guarantee full compatibility. If there is no sound still after trying steps 1-3, you could try to connect the R9 to other mobile phones/computers in order to check whether it is hardware issue.
