Button/Switch Function Explained

Multifunction button

Not on menu page: Short press once to turn on/off the screen; short press twice to mute/unmute the device; hold for about 2s to activate the settings menu.

On menu page: Short press to switch between the settings menu; hold for about 2s to exit the settings menu.

 

Volume+ button

Short press once to increase the volume for 1 level; hold to continuously increase the volume; page up on the settings menu.

Volume- button

Short press once to decrease the volume for 1 level; hold to continuously decrease the volume; page down on the settings menu.

(Note: Since the KA17 is using XMOS chip, long pressing volume button to switch tracks is not supported currently.)

Desktop mode switch

Set the Desktop mode switch to ON, and connect the side power in port to a power adapter to enable high voltage power supply and parallel drive, thus acquiring desktop-level output power.

An Introduction to Display Information

①Current volume: Display the current volume level

②Current gain level: “H” stands for high gain, “L” stands for low gain

③Current UAC version: “U2.0” and “U1.0” respectively stand for different UAC versions

④Desktop mode: The displayed “D” character means the Desktop mode is enabled

⑤Music format/sampling rate display: Display the format and sampling rate of the currently playing song

 

How to activate the settings menu?

Hold the multifunctional button for about 2s to activate the settings menu.

On menu page: Short press the multifunctional button to switch between the settings menu; hold for about 2s to exit the settings menu.

Volume + button: page up on the settings menu.

Volume - button: page down on the settings menu.

An Introduction to Settings Menu

  1. GAIN: Select high or low gain.

  2. FLT: Digital filter, 8 types of filters available.

  3. VOL-STEP: Volume level control, 60 and 120 levels available.

  4. SPDIF: After the SPDIF mode is enabled, you will get the SPDIF signal through the 3.5mm port with an adapter cable (purchased separately). Please keep this option disabled when using the analog output, such as when outputting through headphones.

  5. ADJ-L/R: Channel balance settings of the left/right channel.

  6. DIMMER: Dimmer setting of the display.

  7. MQA: Enable or disable MQA.

8. EQ: Equalizer setting.

9. MAX VOL: Maximum volume limit.

10. ROT-DISP: Rotate the display. It can be set to rotate 180 degrees.

11. OFF-DISP: Set the time that the display can be auto-locked if there is no activity.

12. U-AUDIO: Select between USB2.0/1.0.

13. THD-MODE: Harmonic compensation.

14.LANGU: Chinese and English available.

15. VERSION: Firmware version display.

16. RECOVER: Recover default settings.
