Original Starter: Excellent Balance of True Wireless Bluetooth Receiver Earrings

Original Evaluation: Excellent Balance of True Wireless Bluetooth Receiver Earrings

Bluetooth real wireless earplugs have completely got rid of the shackles of traditional earplug wires. It is really convenient to use, but almost everyone agrees that "real wireless does not talk about sound quality", and some players call real wireless "just" will ring ". This is not surprising. It is extremely difficult to integrate so many components and batteries in such a small space and to achieve sound quality as traditional audio equipment.

The second embarrassment of real wireless earplugs is that they easily fall off their ears during use. Moreover, this often falls off when you are least prepared, which is often quite embarrassing. I used real wireless earplugs to fall off many times.

But as the saying goes, there are always more methods than problems.

Feiao's latest UTWS1 is an earplug that tries to achieve as good sound quality as possible in real wireless earplugs-or it is more appropriate to call them "real wireless Bluetooth receiving earplugs", because its thinking is the same as Feiao BTR series Bluetooth receiving earplugs. It provides a receiver earplug, and the earplug part is completely performed by the user's own earplug.

This is a program that is as effective as possible as possible with limited capital investment. After all, Apple's real wireless products are difficult to satisfy players in sound quality. The sound quality of Sony and Sennheiser's real wireless earplugs, not to mention it, is also difficult to get close.

Feiao UTWS1 cleverly uses the user's own replaceable earplugs. The current version is the MMCX interface standard. There are already many such earplugs in the market, and many players inevitably have several pairs of idle ones. Feiaren said that 0.78 standard versions will be released in the future. Generally speaking, the quality of earplugs designed with interchangeable lines is of a good standard. In terms of the quality of earplugs, it should be able to easily defeat most of the real wireless earplugs in the market.

When testing Feiao UTWS1, I used my FH1 moving coil earplugs. This pair of earplugs adopts MMCX standard and has a good reputation among players. UTWS1 is the same as other Feiao earplugs. By default, the left ear is blue and the right ear is red. It is not easy to make mistakes when wearing it. It is still quite fashionable to match with the red version of HF1. One thing that must be pointed out here is that it is not enough to have MMCX interface alone. Your MMCX earplugs must be designed by default to be suitable for UTWS1. The traditional straight plug will be difficult to get in place. Fortunately, replaceable earplugs with ear-hanging design are also very common.

UTWS1 does not have a standard battery box for real wireless earplugs, perhaps because it is really difficult to make a battery box because of this design. It is equipped with a one-two-microUSB charging line, which can charge two hosts at the same time. Official data is full of standby that can be played continuously for 8 hours and 100 hours. For most users, it is not a problem to support high-frequency use for a whole day. In fact, I was surprised by the endurance of the test these days. In terms of personal usage rate, it is estimated that it will not be a problem for two days.

UTWS1 does not use touch control but uses physical button type. Fortunately, both buttons are designed to be light-press type, which is quite easy to operate. Its control logic is the same as EW1. In addition to the corresponding phone answer, call and hang-up function, it also clicks the volume decrease when the left ear plays, clicks the volume increase when the right ear plays, double-clicks the left ear to activate the voice assistant, and the right ear to pause playback. Long press, left and right to switch between up and down. However, UTWS1 still does not support mobile phone app control and custom key functions. I hope this can be realized as soon as possible in the future.

Feiao UTWS1's ear-hanging design easily solves the problem that real wireless earplugs are easy to fall off. Because its host is directly hung on the earplug around the ear, coupled with the fixation of the in-ear earplug, it is almost impossible to accidentally fall off. In my high frequency use these days, UTWS1 has no need to worry about this aspect. When the ear-hanging design is first used, it may take a little time to get used to it, and it will also cause a little inconvenience to users wearing glasses. But this one will soon adapt. Unlike real wireless like EW1, when the ear-hanging UTWS1 does not listen, the earplug can be taken out of the ear canal and placed gently on the edge. This completely avoids foreign body sensation and stethoscope effect when earplugs are not used. When you need to restore the ear plugs, just let them return. It was an unexpected bonus.

At the same time, because the host of UTWS1 is hung behind the ears, it also makes them very hidden and will not cause any interference to the player's facial appearance. This advantage is more obvious for girls with long hair.

Feiao UTWS1 is still based on Qualcomm QCC3020 scheme, Bluetooth 5.0, and supports aptX. It can be said that this is the lowest standard for players with sound quality requirements-this is also the upper limit of real wireless earplug sound quality at present. Perhaps there will be products supporting Bluetooth coding such as LDAC and aptX HD after technological progress in the future, but it is really aptX at present.

However, a common problem with QCC3020 scheme is that general products will have obvious noise. This is also "behaved" on Feiao's first generation EW1. UTWS1 has made a lot of optimization for this problem on the basis of EW1. According to my actual test, the signal-to-noise ratio has been significantly improved compared with EW1. However, Feiao also suggested that UTWS1 still cannot be compared with traditional hifi players in terms of signal-to-noise ratio, but UTWS1 has easily won the signal-to-noise ratio compared with most real wireless earplugs in the market. Regarding sound quality, this largely depends on the quality of MMCX earplugs that users give it. Feiao FH1 is a ring iron plug, the sound details are very good, and the low frequency also has a certain sense of quantity and flexibility, which is not comparable to Feiao BTR5, but it should be said that in real wireless products, UTWS's performance is still easy to stand out from the crowd. On the whole, I still very much agree with Feiao's own evaluation of UTWS1 sound quality, that is, in Feiao's own products, UTWS1 = uBTR <BTR1K & lt;BTR3 & lt;BTR5.

As a real wireless product, Feiao UTWS1 has made effective improvements in two aspects in particular. One is to prevent falling off. This structure and shape make UTWS1 have inherent advantages. The second is the improvement of sound quality. In terms of DAC and earphones, uBTR level has been achieved, and the earplug part is completely handed over to the user's own standard replaceable plug. This is a very commendable idea. In general, UTWS1 is a product that combines the advantages of a real wireless plug and a separate Bluetooth receiver, and it has indeed achieved a good balance. For players who have standard replaceable earplugs that can be vacated and want to get a real wireless listening experience that is completely free and unfettered, Feiao UTWS1 is very worthy of attention.
