Compared with the default AM1 module of X7, AM2 is exactly the same in appearance, but the X7 in my hands is slightly lighter in color. Replacing the module is a very simple thing. Under 32 Ω impedance, AM1 can output only 100mW, while AM2 can output 300mW; Under 300 high impedance, AM1 can output only 10mW, while AM2 can output 30mW.

When using AM1 module, the difference between high and low gain mainly depends on changing the level of the previous digital signal, while AM2 module provides two sets of voltages of 7.5V and 5.3V for large power amplifier circuits, which also means that when using AM2, the high and low gain of X7 really makes the voltage difference, the function of hardware power supply gain is realized.

In the process of subjective listening, we mainly use AM1 and AM2 earpiece modules to compare the X7 player. At the same time, we also use Feiao's K5 base with X7 and AM2 for comparison. In terms of earphones, we have used the famous AKG701 and iron triangle IM03 earphones, which are difficult to push, so we can infer that the performance of AM2 earpiece module should be sufficient.

On the whole, AM2 undoubtedly has a huge improvement compared with AM1. Due to its higher power, when the player's sound reaches 70, the loudness of AM2 can be basically the same as when AM1 reaches 85. Due to its higher power, K5 has significantly greater loudness than AM2 when using small earplugs.

AM2 has not changed the overall style of AM1 X7, and the sound is still relatively relaxed and relaxed. However, when pushing AKG K701, the X7 with AM2 can obviously exert the resolution of K701; and when matching IM03 with low impedance, AM2 also has better intermediate frequency performance and dynamic performance than AM1. Moreover, even if the power is higher than K5,AM2 is not as dynamic as K5 due to power factors, but it is still excellent in sound details and levels.

In terms of high frequency, AM2 and X7 have delicate listening feeling. K701 has AKG's consistent relaxation and softness under the drive of AM2. Compared with AM1, the density and thickness of high frequency are greatly improved. When matched with moving iron in-ear headphones such as IM03, the high frequency of AM2 is relatively slightly tighter, but the details are still significantly higher than AM1. Of course, because the power requirement of IM03 is not high, the difference between AM2 and AM1 when pushing IM03 is not as prominent as pushing K701, which is the same in the lower and middle frequencies. As for K5, although it has higher power and loudness, AM2 does not lose to K5 in high frequency details. Although it is less stimulating and the dynamic part may be weaker than K5, I feel that AM2 has better high frequency density and is more three-dimensional.

In terms of intermediate frequency, AM2 is much stronger than AM1 when pushing K701, which not only shows a softer and more delicate hearing and a richer level, but also has a more three-dimensional sound junction. AM1 appears dry and weak when pushing K701, and all this has been qualitatively changed in AM2. As for IM03, AM2 also has better dynamic performance, but perhaps limited to the characteristics of moving iron headphones, the intermediate frequency of IM03 is still a little light and restrained on AM2, but it is still more relaxed than AM1. Compared with K5, the analysis and junction image are not much different, but AM2 is softer in the intermediate frequency, especially in the vocal part. K5 is tough at high gain and has obvious dental sounds, while at medium gain, it is relatively close to AM2.

Muse02 is low frequency fullness, which is also reflected in AM2. Compared with AM1,AM2's low-frequency performance has greatly improved. Both IM03 and K701 have better dynamics and strength, especially when listening to rock music, the feeling is very obvious. Compared with K5, AM2's dynamic and strength performance is slightly inferior, but the difference is not too big, but the details are basically the same. Considering that K5 is a desktop earpiece, while AM2 is an earpiece module of a portable player, it is already very satisfactory to have such a performance.

AM2 is undoubtedly a good news for X7 users. Judging from the actual performance, AM2 is indeed obviously better than AM1. Whether it is a small earplug or a headset with higher impedance, AM2 is sufficient. The previous combination of X7 AM1, although the sound is more delicate than X5, has the disadvantage of low power and is unable to cope with large headphones, while AM2 makes up for this regret perfectly. Personally, as long as users who have purchased X7, no matter what headphones they use, it is necessary to upgrade their AM1 module to AM2 module.

At present, the price of AM2 module is 698 yuan alone, and X7 users can buy it at half price. However, I personally think Feiao should introduce the package mode of X7 AM2 module, so that consumers do not have to buy X7 with AM1 separately, and then spend an extra sum of money to upgrade to AM2!
