Feiao has such an attitude towards products, and just two products are very suitable for today's topic, so I will share Feiao's new player M9 and F9PRO, which are not new products, in two articles.

Since April, Feiao crowdfunding product M7 injected new vitality into the market with the new Orion master and extremely low noise, Feiao has continued to develop and built the second player with this new master, which is today's main character M9. Compared with the concise functions of M7, more emphasis is placed on professionalism and functionality. Personally, I regard it as a realization to meet people's higher requirements for entry-level players. At the same price, M9 has achieved a good balance of control, sound and functionality.

In appearance, I feel more like a rounded version of M7, which is softer. The left arc and the right side are vertical to make the whole look like a small book. The most prominent design of this appearance is that the back plate cancels the signal window, and the plastic plate that destroys the integrity finally disappears from the back and is changed to the top plate, thus greatly increasing the overall aesthetics. This change also provides a very good idea for the problem of signal antenna for national bricks that do not adopt injection molding partition process. Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages. The red circle switch of Feiao signboard was moved to the top of the left, without the original design highlights. Of course, without the original bright spots, new bright spots must be added. At the bottom of the screen, M9 has added a playing color light, which will display different colors according to different playing code rates: red when charging, blue for lossy music, purple for lossless music, yellow for HIRES and green for DSD. When not playing, the light is not on, thus maintaining a good overall feeling of the rest screen.

in the internal process, M9 uses 8-layer multi-stage HDI PCB, which is further than M7 manufacturing process. Good electrical performance provides a good platform for other components. The data processing and timing system composed of FPGA and double crystal oscillator continued from M7 is very competitive in the low price range, and also ensures the quality of data output (spdif and USBAUDIO), which is difficult to see at this price. The decoding chip uses double AK4490, and after X5III and Q5 products, M9 is more mature in the use of this scheme.

The operation and function are more like the advanced version of M7. The same system and operation logic are Android 7.0 and gesture touch operation. WIFI function and Bluetooth receiving function have been added (Bluetooth receiving function will also be added to M7 in the future). WIFI has added built-in streaming media music software (optional) and DLNA. Recently, there are relatively new wifi songs, and the firmware update does not need to be copied, and it can be upgraded online. In order to facilitate operation, a drop-down menu has been added accordingly, which can quickly switch various functions and settings. The output is added, not only more balanced ports, but also more coaxial output. M9 not only improves the functions of M7, but also gives it more possibilities. It can also receive Bluetooth signals and perform USB and coaxial output at the same time. So in my eyes, it is an advanced player, which meets the needs of ordinary people for travel, and also meets the requirements of enthusiasts for more professional functions.

Starting from Q5, Feiao has changed its original style in sound adjustment, focusing on restoration and optimizing popularity. The sound direction can be simply regarded as a weakened version of Q5, with overall balance, slightly concentrated energy to the intermediate frequency, slightly warm overall sound, and fast attenuation of the overall frequency band, making the low frequency and neat analysis good, the intermediate frequency human voice clean and not slow, and the high frequency slightly less air sense and charm. The overall speed is moderate, it will not appear to be quick in sound, nor will it feel procrastinated, and the items are clearly positioned and accurately. Personally, I think this is due to the internal digital phase-locked loop.

M9 has the same style as the single port and the balance port. I feel that the only difference between the thrust is true. The bottom noise of the balance port can still be heard but does not affect the music playback. Therefore, I feel that I don't have to worry too much about the difference between single-ended and balance. The balance boost option has an effect on the high volume range, and the difference between the low volume range is very small. The sound field of M9 is relatively flat, and the longitudinal sound field is not very good. It is a typical popular tuning. In terms of popular performance, M9 has a gentle voice, the voice is slightly scattered, the human voice lacks impact, but the emotional expression is in place; the accompaniment does not have a strong sense of boundary, which makes people sound very comfortable. If you like vocal music, you can use thick earplugs to highlight the intermediate frequency to get better vocal performance. On the original sound, M9 is clear and warm, with a relatively bright high frequency, which can handle small music and solo well.

As mentioned earlier, I will elaborate on the expansion function of M9. Bluetooth part of the output covers the current mainstream format. LDAC/atpX/SBC/AAC can all output. Receiving only SBC is currently supported due to software reasons. LDAC will be updated in subsequent firmware. The input option is turned on in Bluetooth settings and cannot be automatically identified as a slot point. DOP or D2P can be selected for coaxial output in the setting. The signal is output after synchronizing the clock through FPGA, and the output capability and quality are guaranteed. USBAUDIO output is the same, but also supports third-party software output, which makes the adaptation more extensive.

Whether it is sound or functionality, M9 has achieved the most mature level of this price. Relying on the feedback and continuous improvement in the early stage of M7, the smoothness of M9 system is very good. WIFI function brings more convenient streaming media use. Ordinary consumers or initial fever may not be familiar with DLNA, but everyone must be familiar with Netease Cloud, and Feiao has also prepared familiar software for foreign users, this is very sweet. The addition of streaming media has greatly enriched the music library and is no longer confined to the capacity of the memory card. The resolution of the screen can also support watching MV well. In addition, M9 shielding is better, and the interference of WIFI signal is not obvious. If you still mind if there is no interference, you can turn off WIFI when playing local music.

Based on the previous M7 efforts to develop new platforms and decentralize technology, a more functional and professional player will be made later, so I said, it is different from myself.

It may not be different, as long as tomorrow's self is better than today's self, it is also a success. Let's talk about the F9P that looks exactly the same as F9.

Like most people, the first thing I did when I got the F9P was to see where the extra 300 pieces were spent: a small earphone cloth bag, a set of memory cotton earplug covers, red and blue identification was added to the earphone wiring plug, straight insertion was changed to curved insertion, and red and blue identification was added to the earphone body, so as to better distinguish left and right and prevent errors. If you actually get headphones, you will feel that the accessories are very rich and worthy of being a major accessory factory.

In the invisible place, F9P replaced the moving iron unit with the Lou unit and readjusted the overall performance. Judging from the official reference frequency response curve, there is actually no problem with the two earphones, because the difference in the high frequency part is too large, but in reality, the difference will be more obvious.

If F9 is a warm pop plug, then F9P is more inclined to the original sound plug. If one word sums up my impression of F9P, it is high resolution. The substantial improvement of F9P in high frequency makes the whole earphone show a clean and transparent texture, maintaining a very good amount of information in a not-so-large sound field, low frequency condensation, good detail positioning, but insufficient dive; The intermediate frequency is thin, but the analysis is very good, showing the details of the intermediate frequency very bluntly. High frequency has a very good extension of the same price and is relatively bright. This makes me personally think that this headset is more suitable for the original sound.


F9P is an interchangeable line design. In addition to the two earphone lines attached, you can also order a better earphone upgrade line to improve the sound quality performance. Personally, I used the upgrade line of Feiao 398 to improve the performance of F9P. Replace with the upgrade line, the analysis will be further improved. If some people prefer its high resolution, some people will think that it is not very popular. This can only be said to have its own choices, but if you like the original music, then this headset can be said to be very good at this price. Good choice. So what is the difference or gap with higher-end headphones? I would like to say that the F9P sound field is smaller and has a strong sense of margin, and the overall sound performance is not fresh enough, which is relatively stiff.

, in terms of matching, the personal matching feeling is that if you like the original sound, you can directly match a high-quality front end to obtain better information and analysis. If you like high-resolution and female voice, you are suitable to use a relatively thick and popular front end, such as the M9 mentioned earlier. In addition, Feiao's other low-frequency enhancement and vocal enhancement can also be tried to reach a level of satisfaction. Therefore, when choosing these two earphones, it is not necessary to feel entangled with the same appearance. The two earphones are not the same in the direction. It is good to choose the listening type that suits you.

speaking of the end, why does a headset that is almost different in terms of listening sense use the name F9P?
