5. How to Update the Firmware for DISC?

Online Update:

1.Before updating, ensure the device battery is above 30%. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to an available network. Go to Settings > System Settings > System Update > Online Update to manually check for updates.

2.When a new firmware is detected and the update begins, keep the DISC within approximately 5 meters of the Wi-Fi router. Do not operate the device during the update process to avoid failure.

3.The update takes about 10 minutes. The device will automatically restart upon completion.

Note: The network connection must remain stable during the update—stay close to the router! If the update seems to take excessively long, check if the network was interrupted, then reconnect and wait for up to 30 minutes. If issues persist, please contact FiiO customer support.

Local Update:

1.On your computer, download the firmware file to the root directory of a TF card. Insert the TF card into the DISC player.

2.On the device, go to Settings > System Settings > System Update > Local Update to perform the local update.

3.Do not operate the device during the update process. It will automatically restart once the update is complete.

Note:
1. Please use the TF card in FAT32 or EXFAT format. The support for NTFS format SD card will be optimized in later firmware update.
2. Please transfer the firmware to the TF card via the Windows computer or mobile phone . Currently, the firmware file could not be transfered correctly via MAC. We will optimize in later firmware update.
3. Do not unzip or zip the firmware again. Just download it and place it directly in the root directory of the TF card.
4. If the firmware update fails, please try formatting the TF card again and re-copying the firmware.
