13. How to set up PEQ on the QX11

What is PEQ?

PEQ is also called a parametric equalizer. It is an equalizer that allows detailed adjustment of various parameters. The adjustable parameters include frequency bands (such as low, low-mid, high-mid, and high frequencies), frequency points (sweep type, freely selectable), gain (boost/cut amount), and quality factor Q (bandwidth, with freely adjustable, high-Q, and low-Q options). It is generally used for subjective sound adjustment to make the music style more distinct, rich, and colorful, achieving the desired listening effect.

What is the difference between PEQ and a regular EQ?

PEQ allows you to customize the center frequency, amplitude, and Q value. A regular EQ, except for amplitude, is preset by the system and cannot be customized.

Simply put, PEQ is customizable, while a regular EQ is preset by the system.

System-preset EQs have fixed styles and fewer types. Many users find that no preset option is fully satisfactory. After PEQ supports customization, this problem can be well solved for these users.
